Raising money to help support the World's First Preserved Railway
The Talyllyn Railway was completed in 1865 to carry slate from Bryn Eglwys Quarry above Nant Gwernol to the main Cambrian line in Tywyn and became the World's First Preserved Railway when it was saved from closure by volunteers in 1951.
